Heart to Heart International (HHI) is dedicated to improving healthcare access both in the U.S. and globally by ensuring that quality care is delivered equitably in medically under-resourced communities and disaster situations. I joined HHI in 2014 as a graphic designer, and soon after, the organization recognized the range of skills I could contribute. Over eight years, I supported HHI’s mission by providing a wide array of creative services, including print and digital design, photography, web development, and video production. My work played a key role in their fundraising efforts, helping to amplify the impact of their life-saving initiatives

Beyond graphic design, I invested significant time documenting HHI’s work through a photojournalistic lens. My aim was to capture the essence of our mission in action—showcasing the human impact of our efforts and the meaningful moments that define our work. By focusing on the authenticity of each event, I sought to visually tell the story of HHI’s initiatives, bringing our mission to life in a way that resonated with supporters and furthered our cause.

“Clinic in a Can” is a unique healthcare solution offering portable, fully equipped medical units housed in shipping containers. Designed for rapid deployment and accessibility, these clinics can be set up in remote or underserved areas to provide essential healthcare services. They are equipped with modern medical technology, can run off-grid, and are tailored to meet the healthcare needs of communities in crisis or those with limited infrastructure.
In partnership with Heart to Heart International (HHI), Clinic in a Can combines its innovative, mobile healthcare model with HHI’s global reach and experience in delivering humanitarian medical aid. Together, they aim to improve healthcare access in vulnerable regions, providing life-saving medical services during emergencies, natural disasters, or in areas lacking adequate medical infrastructure. This collaboration ensures that quality care can be delivered where it’s needed most, helping to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities around the world.

Website Development
In 2015, the Communications Director and I worked with DEG to redesign HHI’s website to increase donations. Since then, I’ve worked directly with VoltageKC, a Kansas City web-based design firm, to make major and minor updates to the back and front end of HHI’s WordPress platform. This includes a carousel for the hero image on the homepage, adding extra call-to-action buttons, and fixing links for outside fundraising platforms like Community Funded and MobileCause.
In total, I worked on +190 webpages and +30 story posts ranging from programs, company & social fundraisers, donor & disaster response updates, information for volunteers and support for operations.
