Heart to Heart International seeks to improve healthcare access in the U.S. and around the world by ensuring quality care is provided equitably in medically under-resourced communities and in disaster situations. I started working for HHI as a graphic designer in 2014, and soon after they discovered the many talents I could provide to the organization. For over 8 years I’ve provided print & digital design, photography, web development and video to help their fundraising efforts.
Photography
Beyond graphic design, I dedicated significant time to capturing various events at HHI. Through a photojournalistic approach, my goal was to convey HHI’s mission by capturing the true essence of our activities.
Website Development
In 2015, the Communications Director and I worked with DEG to redesign HHI’s website to increase donations. Since then, I’ve worked directly with VoltageKC, a Kansas City web-based design firm, to make major and minor updates to the back and front end of HHI’s WordPress platform. This includes a carousel for the hero image on the homepage, adding extra call-to-action buttons, and fixing links for outside fundraising platforms like Community Funded and MobileCause.
In total, I worked on +190 webpages and +30 story posts ranging from programs, company & social fundraisers, donor & disaster response updates, information for volunteers and support for operations.
